Preparing an Aspen Home for the Season

The two highest-risk windows for an Aspen home are the weeks before the family arrives and the weeks after they leave. Most service failures trace back to a missed step in one of those windows.

Pre-arrival: deep clean and detail, mechanical and HVAC checks, fireplace and chimney inspection, water systems flushed, pantry and bar restocked to the household's pars, vehicles serviced and fueled, fresh florals, and a final walk-through with the household manager.

Post-departure: linens laundered and rotated, perishables removed, refrigerators audited, security and smart-home systems re-armed for vacancy, snow and freeze protocols staged, and a written report sent to the principal or family office.

The checklist is the easy part. The discipline to run it the same way every season is what separates a well-run home from an expensive one.
