Building a Household Team: What Aspen Families Should Know

Agencies are optimized for volume. They place candidates, collect a fee, and move on. For most household roles in Aspen — where discretion, continuity, and cultural fit matter more than a résumé — that model is misaligned with the principal's interests.

A better approach starts with structure the household owns: a written role profile tied to the home's actual rhythm, an interview framework with a working trial, and reference work that goes well beyond the candidate's provided list. We build and teach that framework — we do not place candidates.

Just as important is what happens after the hire — onboarding, a 90-day check-in, and a compensation and review structure that gives the employee a reason to stay for years rather than seasons.

Turnover is the single most expensive line item in a household. Clear standards and real training are the most durable way to lower it.
